Life takes place, and it can happen fast. Sometimes we don’t take the time to stop and
look around at what is happening to us at each moment. We don’t get to see the
step-by-step progress that we are making in our own lives. So, what happens? Gbam! the future comes, and you have no track or idea of how you have gotten there, successful or not.
One quick
question: How can penning things down help improve your life? Or does it help clear
your thoughts when you are upset? Will
penning things down help you determine whether or not you are on your right
career path? Will it help you check if you are reaching towards your goal or
not? Provide an answer…
Writing is
an important part of life, whether in the workplace or school, as an hobby or in
personal communication, everyone is a writer. Here is the
truth: your effectiveness in life is not what you could be missing out.
Each day passes by and you have nothing to prove that it even happened. Did you achieve something? Have an emotional breakthrough? Who knows? But what you
do know is that you don’t want to make the same mistakes that you have made in
the past, but you still make them. Do you know why? Because you are not getting to the
hidden lessons that life teaches you, and one way you can, is through penning it down.
Now, do you
have your answer?
Awesome, your answer
is correct. Do you know how I know this? No matter what you have decided,
writing things down can help you with it. There is no wrong answer, that is how
flexible and useful a tool it is; it can help shed light on achieving any possible
goal out there.
Pen it down
it, it works;
- It helps you have a better connection with your values, emotions, and goals. By writing about what you believe in, why you believe it, how you feel, what your goals are, you better understand your relationship to those things.
- Writing allows you to be finally honest with yourself about everything and anything. Get to know yourself and your life better and improve long-term focus on what is important.
- It will help improve your mental clarity, solve problems, improve overall focus. Simply, whenever you have a problem and write about it, you transfer the problem from your head to the paper. This empties the mind, allowing allocation of precious resources to problem-solving rather than problem-storing.
- It clears the mental clutter. You become better, able to focus and reason your tasks out, and this is a crucial and useful skill to have.
- A positive value is added, you become more open to insights you might have missed before, as you write your note out, in actual fact you are having a discussion with yourself. This draws out insights that you would have missed; it is almost as if two people are working together to better understand each other.
- Writing allows you to see how you have changed over time, so you can see where you did things right, and you can see where you took a misstep and fell. The great thing about writing is that you will know where that misstep was, and you can make sure it does not happen again. All because you made sure to record it, allowing you to learn from your mistakes.
- Ideas don’t stay for long, awesome ideas can pop up at the strangest times but they tend not to stay for long in your head. So you need to capture them fast or they are gone in the wind
- The best thing about it; no matter what we end up writing about, it is hard not grow from it.
“Write the
vision … upon tablets”: refers to the common practice of writing public notices
with such large fonts on the clay tablets that someone running by could easily
read them. If the notice was a warning it would also cause the reader to run
quickly to prepare for what was coming”.
“That he may
run that readeth it”: Perhaps referring -To clarity of form, so even the one
who runs by it may easily absorb its meaning, or - To clarity of content, so
that the guide could easily transmit the message to others.
Really, no
reprove in this. God answered Habakkuk though. The reason God wanted Habakkuk to
write it down, was so future generations could draw from it. The instructions
to write/pen it down, is a reminder that it would surely occur. “Write the vision”:
Habakkuk was to record the vision to preserve it for posterity, so that all who
read it would know of the certainty of its fulfillment.
“Write down the thoughts of the moment. Those ones that come spontaneous are commonly the most valuable.”
PEN IT DOWN, KEEP IT, SOME DAY IT
WILL KEEP YOU.
"When you write
down your ideas you automatically focus your full attention on them. So many of
us can write one thought and think another at the same time. Thus, a pen and
paper make excellent concentration tools.”
One of the
simplest but most powerful habits I have established in my life in the past few
years is to pen things down, where i can easily go back and refer to them.
Try it , and do not forget to share your past experience, growth and thoughts on this.... Gracias.
Yaaayiiii peace

Thanks for visiting sir. amen, glory to God.
DeleteNice 1 dear..writing things down is really a good habit..,it encourages clarity and remembrance, but.., the little reason some people are reluctant towards writing out their mind is the fear of their written piece falling into the wrong hands.
ReplyDeleteYou are rigt about that, David.
DeleteBut the benefit of writing things down far outweighs the risk. And that shouldn't keep us from doing it. Personally, I won't mind someone reading my journal because that person is probably going to benefit and learn from my mistakes and success and lessons written in there.
When it comes to being scared of someone stealing your ideas, I just have a strong belief that a vison or idea given to you by God can't be stolen. Even if one steals it and try to implement it, it won't be perfect and exactly the way you envisoned it. What is yours is yours unless you give it out yourself intentionally.
Above all, we must take enough safety measures and guard our journals. What we value, we protect.

God bless
Right David. But then, what is yours is yours, pen it it down to guide and remind you, to keep you on your feet. No one can do you better than you. Like Esther said; A vision/mission/idea God gives you cant be stolen. It is shielded and tagged in your identity, who can say NO when God says YES. so fear should be evicted. Pen it down !
DeleteI am glad we could share our thoughts and help each other. God bless you guys.
Another awesome post Korexππ This is definetely an important topic that needs to be addressed and you have done that perfectly. The benefits of writing things down really goes a long way. I personally love journaling and wow I love it, because sometimes when I go back to read through and see things I wrote, am always in awe, like, "Wow, I wrote that?" And like you said, "pen it down, keep it, someday it will keep you." That is so true. Something we wrote than 5 years ago could finally help and become useful someday.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, great post my dear. More grease to your elbow. God bless π€
AMEN!
DeleteThats right dear. thanks a lot for your consistency in here. God bless you too.
You got a lot of things spot on in this article. I started penning things down in a journal a month and a half ago and I must say looking back, it helps to evaluate so much of your growth as a person. All in all, sweet pieceππΎππΎ
ReplyDeleteAwesome, so it works. I like that,"It helps you evaluate so much of your growth as a person" . sooo true!
