EXPRESS IT: Important things to appreciate about life.

This week let’s take time to reflect.

We all have goals and ambitions we want to cross off of our bucket list, but happiness does not just come from groundbreaking, life-changing events. As the School of Life explains, it is important to focus on small pleasures as we work toward greater goals.

“We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude.”

How often do you pause to appreciate what you have in life?

When I was young, I took things for granted. I believe many other kids did so, as well. After all, we were young and we didn’t know what life could be like on the other side. Now as adults, being responsible for everything is not easy. Those days, I used to feel my parents have not done enough, but now I just appreciate the little things that make a difference.

Another things we took for granted was education. In this part of the world, it is compulsory for all kids to go to school, so it was given. We never thought about how lucky we were to be educated. I can remember when I was in SS3, I used to lie that I was sick when I miss school. Why? I just felt we kept repeating the same things. I didn’t appreciate what I had.

We also took our teachers for granted. We never thought about how lucky we were to have teachers who cared for our growth so much, and poured their heart and soul into their lessons.

Well, slowly as I grew up, I began to appreciate things around me more. As I saw more and more of the world out there, I realized all the things I had been given are not rights, but privileges.

Same as you, it is a privilege to be you, to be at that stage and position you are right now.

James 1:17,Every good and perfect gift  is from above, coming from the father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. And also 1 Thessalonians 5:18  ; Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

I realized that being literate is a not a right, but a gift. I realized there is a lot of war and violence in the world, and we are blessed not lucky to live in a country where it is safe and peaceful. There are people out there who don’t have their five senses, and to have ours is a gift.

The world is so beautiful, and we are lucky to live in such an amazing world.

Basically, we take our good health for granted, we complain about our kind of job, meanwhile some are jobless, and some are on their sick bed, seeking for donation.

Sometimes, it is easy to feel bad because you are going through a tough time in life.
However, remember that no matter how bad your situation may seem, there are tens of thousands of things to be grateful for in life.

Hebrews 12:28: Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,

  1. As I read this article, I realized how ungrateful I am. Wow, so many things been taken for granted. Ever complaining and grumbling about this and that. Ever wishing to have another person's life and never appreciative. Ever rushing to see the end result and not appreciating the process and pruning. It is a really good thing that God ain't man. God I am thankful for everything, the good, bad and ugly. Past, present and future. Family, friends and not-so friendly people 😊 (Devil is the real enemy) Everything... CHANGECOSIS

Change is the only CONSTANT. It is inevitable.  Few days ago I posted this word   CHANGECOSIS on my Instagram page @_expressit and I challenged my followers to find the meaning of the word, but  I almost forgot we are the Google generation (Lol)  so I got answers powered by Google (lol).                       Moreover, my sister, Ifedolapo Ajakaiye(Mrs) inspired this piece, she sent me the word, I thought it was one of those medical terms they use as medical practitioners , but no it is not.  According to her; "After a long period of study on unhealthy conditions and why it threatens life ; I came across a disease that threatens one's ability to enjoy life and develop one's full potential - CHANGECOSIS  ". Yes!   it is a disease. It is wise to avoid this disease, a threat to happy living and growth , better still run from it.  This Changecosis is an unhealthy condition that only those who resist change suffer from it. You need to do whateve

PEN IT DOWN

Life takes place, and it can happen fast. Sometimes we don’t take the time to stop and look around at what is happening to us at each moment. We don’t get to see the step-by-step progress that we are making in our own lives. So, what happens? Gbam! the future comes, and you have no track or idea of how you have gotten there, successful or not. One quick question: How can penning things down help improve your life? Or does it help clear your thoughts when you are upset?  Will penning things down help you determine whether or not you are on your right career path? Will it help you check if you are reaching towards your goal or not? Provide an answer… Writing is an important part of life, whether in the workplace or school, as an hobby or in personal communication, everyone is a writer.  Here is the truth: your effectiveness in life is not what you could be missing out. Each day passes by and you have nothing to prove that it even happened. Did you achieve something? Have a

It BEGINS : The preparation process

Happy new year lovelies, I wish you all an amazing time of celebration and a fruitful year ahead. I can feel the excitement in the air . I  really appreciate you all for following my blog , your support, corrections, encouragement and prayers means a lot to me. God bless you greatly.     Day 1 of 365 days , the year has started, waiting for no one to be ready , let me share this with you; It is about THE PREPARATION PROCESS. Everyone goes through a preparation process, but how we go through it differs. Last year has either been good or bad, just there or really amazing, whatever it is, you are in your preparation process. Each time I see someone grumble or panic and worry (just like me those times.. Lol), I try my best to talk them out of it, and help them see the bigger picture and great things ahead of them. Moreover, this is the period that everyone makes new plans, set new agenda, strategize for the next move and all, but then while making all this plans, we tend to neg
